In 2019, WQMA sought to create a special event to bring additional fun to the club. The result was the creation of the Wild Wild West -- a Western themed club race that had a set of social activities including Western costume contests, car decorating contests, mechanical bull riding, hippity hop races, and a sponsored BBQ. Social activities occurred the day before the club race. The event was held the weekend immediately before WQMA's 2019 Regional Race in order to leverage the additional car count that traditionally comes to such a race as a practice run at the Regional event.
2019's Wild Wild West at WQMA race drew the largest single car count on record to WQMA: 145 quarter midget cars at a single day club event.
